FAQ

Nebulas is a decentralized platform which provides a search framework for all blockchains. It is an open source public chain. For more information, please read Nebulas Whitepaper.

This project operates out of the Nebulas team. For more information regarding our team, click here.

It is, to a certain extent. Both Nebulas and Google are search engines, but built for a different purpose. Nebulas is used to search smart contracts, distributed applications (DApps) and users’ assets on blockchains, while Google is used to search for daily information on the internet.
In addition, Nebulas is being built on a decentralized search framework with open-source algorithms, verifiable computing, and distributed data stores.

Data are rapidly migrating from the traditional internet to blockchains, and types of data on blockchains are getting richer and richer. Traditional search engine can no longer meet demands for blockchain data search. We need a decentralized blockchain search engine to embrace these changes.

NAS is the utility token of Nebulas, viable for payment of transaction fees and computing service charges.
For now, NAS is an ERC20 token. However, it will be swapped on a 1:1 basis for native NAS tokens on the Nebulas blockchain after the mainnet release.

We are still working on this aspect. You can follow Nebulas Wiki on Github or participate in our #developer channel on Slack.
